1. well, to play the drums
2. magic wand, with the other as a spare
3. to beat on things that are not drums (regardless if there is any music playing) just to irritate those around you
4. wooden stakes in case you run into a Vampire

Here are some more uses:
1. Twirling. (Real drummers HAVE to be able to twirl them, even while playing.)
2. VERY effective as chopsticks, if you're eating at home and don't have any.
3. Making your kid laugh when you jam them up your nose and trumpet like an elephant.
4. Martial arts (in lieu of nunchaku.)
5. Back scratcher.

after the curtain rod incident, i'm thinking i could use a drumstick as a hammer and beat the screws into the wall.
